Happy Thanksgiving!!

WOW! What a whirlwind of a weekend. Along with my regular training, my husband and I decided to adopt two new pups from Lab Rescue on Wednesday, I took on two new clients, prepped a ridiculous amount of food for our Friendsgiving feast, and continued an intense rehab effort on my calf before hitting the pavement for the annual Thanksgiving GE Run thru the Woods 5 mile run.
At 5:45am, the alarm went off and it was time to rise and shine. After a quick check of the weather (45 degrees! Brrrr!), I threw on my sweatshirt, laced my shoes, grabbed my Amino Energy, and hit the road. It was go time!
With over 5200 participants participating in the GE Run thru the Woods, the roads were bustling early. People were dressed in everything from the conventional running shorts and long sleeve shirts to festive holiday gear and turkey hats. After a much-needed stretch, we all made our way to the start line, where the national anthem played over the loud speakers, the countdown began, and off we went for a quick 5-mile pre-Thanksgiving feast. Although I didn’t set a personal best, I was happy overall with my pace and finish time of 9:08 (pace) and just over 45 minutes on the clock. Having spent the morning with good friends doing something I love, made for the perfect beginning to an amazing holiday weekend.
