High Protein Waffles

Servings per batch: 6

Serving size: 2 waffles (about 4-inches in diameter)

Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup rolled oats (ground in food processor)
  • 3 scoops Dymatize Gourmet Elite Protein Powder
  • ½ tsp baking powder
  • ½ tsp baking soda
  • 1 tbsp unsweetened applesauce
  • 1 tbsp cooking oil
  • 6 egg whites (whipped)

Instructions:

  • Combine ground rolled oats, protein powder, baking powder and baking soda in a large bowl.  (To avoid clumps, use sifter for baking powder and baking soda if necessary.)
  • In a separate bowl, combine unsweetened applesauce and cooking oil.
  • Combine ingredients in both bowls (dry and liquids) into one bowl.  When thoroughly mixed, fold in egg whites.
  • Pour batter on to waffle iron plate and close.  Be careful not to overfill, as waffles have a tendency to expand.
  • Waffles are ready to eat when the top is golden brown!
  • Top with all natural peanut butter, almond butter, or sugar-free syrup.
