My Pregnancy: 7 weeks and counting…

Week 7 is here and time is flying by! Ask me again at week 35 and I’ll probably say, “This is taking FOREVER!”

Since the size of a baby is compared to fruits and vegetables during pregnancy, I decided I would try to incorporate foods into my diet each week that represent the baby’s size at the current time to make the pregnancy fun.  Let’s see how this goes:)

Baby Brickhouse is officially the size of a blueberry, so I decided to make blueberry protein muffins. I usually make Jamie Eason’s Cinnamon Swirl Bread recipe as a sweet, healthy treat, but decided to forego the cinnamon, replace it with blueberries, and switch the bread pan to silicone baking cups. One word…YUM!

This week also marks my first flight since finding out I am pregnant. I didn’t really think much about traveling while being pregnant, but I decided I didn’t trust going through x-ray machines or scanners, even if the airport claims they’re safe. Instead, I’m allowing myself more time at the airport and opting for the ever-so-fun pat down instead. No way am I risking anything happening to this baby! And hey, if I have a little extra time to kill I’ll grab a blueberry scone or stock up on fit pregnancy mags.

This is also week we are we’re telling our closest friends and parents about our pregnancy news. I’ve already sent out announcement cookies to everyone, so let’s see when we start getting the “OMG!” calls.

Check out the cute cookies I had made.  The parents obviously got the more appropriate “Coming June 2015” cookies, while our friends got the “Shit Just Got Real” cookies.
